Instruction to the Reviewers of INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL
OF NUCLEAR SAFETY AND SIMULATION (IJNS)
| 1. General Information on INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NUCLEAR SAFETY AND SIMULATION (IJNS) |
| INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NUCLEAR SAFETY AND SIMULATION (IJNS) is an Academic Journal published in English. The purpose of IJNS is to contribute on sustainable development of human civilization by the pursuit of nuclear safety and the related simulation technology which aims at the symbiosis of nuclear power with human, society and environment. |
| The IJNS will be composed of review papers on international and industrial trends, research and technical development, various lecture notes on nuclear safety and the related simulation technology as well as original research papers, technical reports and short notes in various research fields on nuclear safety and the related simulation technology. It is a specific feature that IJNS includes not only technical fields but also human and social science. |
| The IJNS is mainly intended to enlighten academicians, engineers and students in the Eastern Asian countries where peaceful uses of nuclear power are in progressing. Therefore, major target of IJNS readers is for Eastern Asia but readers of other areas around the world are welcome to participate in IJNS. The IJNS is quarterly published by Symbio Community Forum (SCF), Kyoto, Japan, as electronic journal, and the printed version of IJNS can be available from Harbin Engineering University (HEU), Harbin, China. |
| 2. Paper Submissions and Review Process by IJNS |
| The papers included in the IJNS are constituted by two kinds of articles, (a) Editor-in-Chief requested papers and (b)free submitted papers. Especially for (a), the Editor-in-Chief will invite many experts around the world to become the members of IJNS Editorial board as well as the members of Internal Advisory. Those members are expected to cooperate with the Editor-in-Chief to the journal planning such as inviting Review paper and Lecture note in IJNS on timely basis. For this, the members of IJNS Editorial board themselves will be kindly asked to submit such papers upon the request by Editor-in-Chief. |
| The role of the members of IJNS Editorial board as well as the Internal Advisory is not only restricted to such contribution for IJNS. All papers submitted for IJNS, i.e., both for (a) and (b), will be reviewed by the members of IJNS Editorial board by the due review process. The Editor-in-Chief of IJNS will occasionally ask proper members to review the submitted papers according to the type of submitted papers, the expertise of the reviewers, with the individual procedures set by the type of submitted papers. |
| In order to keep the quality of the review process, the reviewers will be asked to review the requested papers faithfully within the deadline of review time, while the Editor-in-Chief will have to pay fair reward to the sincere contribution by the reviewers as well as by the authors to whom the Editor-in-Chief requested paper contribution. |
| 3. Paper types to be reviewed |
| There are four types of submitted papers as below to be included in IJNS: |
| (1) Free submission of original papers (Research Papers, Technical Reports and Short Notes). |
| (2) Reserved. |
| (3) Free submission of Review (Research Review and Technical Reviews). |
| (4) Editor-in-chief requested articles (Industrial & International Trends, Research Reviews, Technical Reviews, Educational Programs and Laboratory Review, Lecture Notes). |
| 4. Review process according to the paper types |
| Difference of the review process according to the paper types will be summarized in the Table below: |

| The Editor-in-Chief would like to ask each reviewer your kind comments to the authors of original papers, especially from the following aspects in order to encourage the authors to write qualified research papers. |
| (i) In the introduction part of the paper, whether or not the authors review the related researches with listing up proper references, in order not only to proof their justness of evaluation and knowledge on the research progress of the related area but also to highlight the originality, significance, usefulness of the presented authors' work. |
| (ii) In the main body, whether or not the authors describe properly the methods used in the presented work and the result obtained by the work, in order to prove the appropriateness and completeness of the authors work. |
| (iii) Lastly in the conclusion part, whether or not the authors properly summarize the result of their conducted work and further works necessary to do or future works to be expanded from this work. |
| Those are expected feedback from the reviewers to the authors and also to the Editor-in-Chief, to improve the quality of the IJNS to earn internationally recognition as high quality journal in future. The Editor-in-Chief sincerely hope the reviewers' cooperation in this respect. |
